Speciality in Knowledge Management for Postgrade

Since 1998 the Center for Knowledge Systems in Campus Monterrey offers the Specialty Program in Knowledge Management for the Master in Information Systems Management (MATI), which is in turn a block of electives for the MBA of Tecnológico de Monterrey.

This program takes the self-learning as a paradigm of values and educational processes. Hence resulting three design criteria: the student as a driver for their own learning process, the significance of the educational experiences to life and work, and the proliferation of options and learning resources.

Under the concept of self-management, each student takes responsibility for its own process, actively participating in defining the goals, methods and assessment of learning. With this, each student is urged to clarify to himself and to the group, what and how she/he want to learn in that subject and contribute to the group, and defining which evidence will provide, redesigning the traditional teacher-pupil educational contract. It is work of the facilitator actively support the learning process of the group, as well as testify before the Institute that the performance criteria, consensus by the group at the start of the course, have been achieved by each participant.

This course provides an overview of the origins and current prospects of the movement of Knowledge Management. Participants will gain an understanding of the Knowledge Economy, the relationship between evolution and learning, as well as the nature of the representations. It also covers the concepts of Endogenous Development, and Systems Based on Knowledge Capital. With these bases, participants may compreneder the foundation for implementation of major systems of knowledge, competencies such as Strategic Value and Practice of Intellectual Capital. Throughout the course was also documented the major tools to support the Knowledge Management.

In this course are documented, analyzed and develop the skill to articulate a strategy of intelligence outsourcing business 360°, through each of its components and further integration into a product agreed at the start of the course. The components are: the smart, intelligence outsourcing business of 360°, market intelligence, intelligence from competitors, and technological intelligence. From these is the integration of foreign intelligence and the formulation of a strategy for business intelligence. Throughout the course reviews the major business intelligence tools.
